    The INVISTA NYLON EP business is the cornerstone of our portfolio. As the core of our technology and operating infrastructure, we have made a significant commitment to and investments in the Nylon business chain. We intend to grow this business for years to come.

    Nylon is considered one of the most important Engineering Polymers – having a broad range of applicability in a wide range of industries. One of the reasons for Nylon’s penetration and widespread use is that it is able to be modified in a variety of ways with a number of additives and reinforcing agents, allowing it to take on many seemingly different forms. Its tensile strength, heat deflection temperatures and impact properties can all be varied widely using a number of unique additives through a variety of processes. In addition, the material can be heat stabilized, nucleated, lubricated, flame retarded and flow enhanced, and has reduced permeability and increased melt flow.

    INVISTA PET Polyester Resin

    The INVISTA PET business will rely heavily on our years of experience producing unique and customized polyesters. PET has a number of unique advantages over other polymers in many applications, and we can help designers take full advantage of the unique aspects of PET Engineering Polymers. In addition to performance advantages, PET has a very good cost position relative to many other resins considered for similar applications. Large structural applications in automotive lend themselves to the superior properties of INVISTA PET, as do many small precision parts where tolerances are critical.

    INVISTA PET can be used in applications where dimensional stability – due to low moisture absorption – and higher thermal properties are key.

    INVISTA PET’s high temperature properties, in combination with its inherent electrical properties, make INVISTA PET a preferred resin used in the electrical industry in many applications such as small motors, transformers and coil bobbins.

    PBT is one of the most important resins in the electrical and electronics industries, as well as automotive and industrial consumer markets. The versatility of PBT is due to its unique blend of physical and chemical properties of high temperature resistence, low moisture absorption and easy processing, based on its unique crystallinity profile.
